High on the ridge, the light turns grey,
as Switzerland folds up the end of the day.

Down climbs the Little Ibex, steady and slow,
his curved horns catching the sunset's glow.

He picks his way past small blue flowers,
growing wild in the mountain hours.

Below, a lake lies calm and still,
a mirror held by the mountain's hill.

An eagle circles once, high and wide,
then folds her wings and turns to glide.

Past a lone pine tree, tall and old,
he stops to rest, away from the cold.

Tucked in the valley, a village sleeps,
where soft lamplight through windows creeps.

The wind grows quiet, the sky turns blue,
the whole mountain rests, and the stars do too.

He finds his spot, tucked away and small,
right by an old and mossy wall.

And now it's time, my little one,
to rest like he has, day is done.

Wrapped up warm and snug and tight,
Switzerland whispers... goodnight, goodnight.

Flagging for you: a few things to know about this one. (1) The opening couplet — "High on the ridge, the light turns grey, as Switzerland folds up the end of the day" — has no matching illustration in the artwork sheet, so it plays/reads as an unillustrated opening line before Page 1 begins (shown in italics in the text above); let me know if you'd like a panel commissioned for it, or if you're happy treating it as a spoken intro. (2) Page 9 is a wordless illustration (the Little Ibex now asleep in the mossy-wall nook) — it has no new line of its own, just completes the beat from Page 8, so the reader shows it with no caption. (3) The narration audio (little-travellers-switzerland-en.mp3) isn't uploaded yet, so Play is wired but silent, and the chapter markers are placeholder timestamps spaced 15 seconds apart until you send real timings. (4) There's no dedicated cover graphic yet like Seychelles' book cover, so Page 1 is standing in as the thumbnail and social-share image for now. (5) Spanish text hasn't been drafted for this story yet — the toggle above is disabled until it has.
